I’m a whitewater paddling enthusiast living in Chattanooga, Tennessee with a deep passion for exploration and the pursuit of happiness. I wholeheartedly love the outdoors, particularly the mountainous rivers. I have dedicated the last 25 years of my life to my passion for whitewater kayaking and moving through the mountains. My love for whitewater kayaking has shaped my life in every fashion; from where I live, my friends, how I spend my free time and disposable income; kayaking even occupies most of my day dreaming.
I have been paddling since I could walk. My father was a whitewater paddler and he introduced me to boating as early as he saw fit, he instilled in me a burning desire for paddling that still keeps me stoked to this day. I started paddling whitewater at age 9 and competing at age 11. By the time I turned 16, I started paddling as a full-time hobby. My desire for kayaking has taken me all over North America to some of the most remote and scenic stretches of rivers, so beautiful I could not have imagined them in my wildest dreams. Kayaking has given me my best friends and the purest of life experiences. The river has been my most influential mentor; teaching me some of the toughest life lessons but also given me some of my richest rewards. The river has shaped me into the person I am today. Without it I would be lost.
Anyone who has spent any length of time with me would attest that my stoke and desire to charge is genuine and organic and that my passion for enabling and inspiring others extends far beyond my own experiences and situation. My passion for whitewater drives me to continue to charge with determination, enthusiasm and a flair for the dramatic to ensure I carry the flame and love for paddling in a truly inspiring manner.
